MODULE 2: Curriculum/Instruction
Power WalkhtroughTM
CCAP will align classroom walkthrough data to lesson plans to help you reach your ultimate goal of improving student achievement. The McREL Power WalkthroughTM software will be available through CCAP, fall 2008.
CCAP is the only online instructional system that integrates all the educational components critical to student success. Power WalkthroughTM is based on McREL research that led to the publication of Classroom Instruction that Works: Research-Based Strategies for Increasing Student Achievement (Marzano, R. J., Pickering, D.J., & Pollock, J. E., 2001). Detailed reporting illuminates the relationships among what is planned, what is observed, and what is achieved.
The curriculum and instruction module links what is tested to what is taught with ease. This module provides access to curriculum and instructional materials as well as the opportunity for customization to your district's scope and sequences.
- District curriculum can be easily uploaded into CCAP for ready access during planning and evaluation
- Region 4-developed scope and sequences for reading/language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies are included as well as the corresponding curriculum-based assessments
- Scope and sequences developed by Katy ISD for over 480 courses are available.
- Online instructional resources, such as the Region 4 TAKS Preparation Series, provide detailed strategies for reaching all students
- Lesson plan templates help teachers strategically and efficiently plan their lessons by focusing on:
- targeted standards
- clarifying questions
- homework assignments entered in a lesson plan automatically appear in student pages
- aligned assessments
- accommodations and modifications for special needs students
- teaching and learning strategies researched by McREL and described in Classroom Instruction that Works: Research-Based Strategies for Increasing Student Achievement (Marzano, R. J., Pickering, D.J., & Pollock, J. E., 2001)
